Meet Our Volunteers - Tracy Mumford

January 17, 2019

Hi, my name is Tracy. I volunteer at International Needs’ office in Hamilton, and help sort out sponsorship letters.

My home church, Forrestview Community Church, sponsors 80 children in Uganda through International Needs’ sponsorship program. My family and I have the privilege of sponsoring 3 children.

I wanted to visit the community where our church is involved, so I went on a Discovery Tour to Uganda ..... Going on a Discovery Tour to Uganda impacted my faith and helped me grow as a Christian.... CLICK HERE to read more.

Meet Our Volunteers - Emma Kessler

January 10, 2019

'Children hold a special place in my heart, which I believe is a gift from God. In Matthew 19:14 Jesus says, "Let the little children come to me... for the Kingdom of heaven belongs to such as these."

I believe International Needs helps bring children, families, and communities to Jesus, and I feel blessed to play a small part in this ministry by volunteering in the office. I help with the sponsorship letters and am touched by the impact a simple letter can have on children all over the world. It encourages me to write to my sponsored child more often.

I would like to encourage anyone who has some free time to volunteer with International Needs. They do good work in many parts of the world, where it’s desperately needed. Working together, we can make a difference.'

Volunteers Needed

We have recently moved and some of our long-time faithful volunteers cannot commute to help out.

We need YOU! The volunteer opportunities are of a casual nature four times per year, for processing children’s letters going to their sponsors.

Isaac's Story

December 19, 2018

My name is Isaac and I live in Uganda. My parents separated when I was 3 years old and my father remarried. His new wife did not like me and mistreated me so much that my life became unbearable. As a result, my father sent me to live with my grandfather.

In 2007, I received sponsorship through International Needs and was able to go to school. Last year, I graduated with a Diploma in Civil Engineering. I am currently working as a surveyor with a road construction company, and am able to support myself, and my family.

Thank you so much for helping me to re-write my story with a much more positive outcome. May the Lord bless you!

December 10, 2018

On December 10, 1948, the General Assembly of the United Nations adopted and proclaimed the Universal Declaration of Human Rights. It has been translated into more than 350 languages worldwide.

Our human rights include our right to life, freedom, education, an adequate standard of living, work, rest, peace, and freedom of thought and religion. It also includes a ban on discrimination, slavery, torture, and arbitrary detention. Here in Canada we enjoy many rights and freedoms, but for millions of the world’s poor and marginalized, it’s a different story.

That’s why we’re so thankful for you! Through your strong support and partnership, International Needs has been able to free children, their families, and communities from the damage and cruelty of civil strife, poverty, and disease. For an up to date look at the impact you are having on our world, please look through our website.

On #GivingTuesday, join thousands of Canadians and give - whether it’s some of your time, a donation, or the power of your voice.

Ramjan, 11, has been on the streets since his parents left 4 years ago. He sleeps in a train station where he says he gets beaten and taunted. He’s afraid of the future and often goes hungry. Ramjan earns money carrying bags.

Join International Needs’ campaign against child trafficking in Bangladesh. At the Drop-in Centre for Street Children in Dhaka, children like Ramjan are given an opportunity to envision a better future for themselves. One that includes education, healthcare, and enough food to fill their hungry bellies.
